kansas home equity loan,Christmas Eve Chez VRS

Tonight is my family's Christmas Eve. When family is far-flung, and geographically challenged, sometimes you have to adapt. This is the only way we can accommodate all our schedules and escape the exorbitant airfares to Orlando (which is where I am now). I STILL had to fly with large families wearing PAJAMAS on my flight (an entire family of 6—at 2:35 p.m.), and STILL sat in a row with a newborn. But getting through TSA was a breeze. I'm not on the DNF list yet.

In a new tradition, OG mom, my sister, and I hit Renningers Mt. Dora today!

My M.O. at Renningers is to hit the perimeter first, as that's where all the good deals are. Two whole sides are mini-buildings/sheds like one pictured above. Here's a view down one of the sides:

They're a little pricey, but not as much as all the inside booths. It's 200 shops in all, over 40,000 square feet! An experienced shopper like myself can cover that in record time, particularly if I'm hindered by the fact that I have to SHIP purchases home.

In the back are a few junkier locations (viz. PRIMO stuff to me). One dealer had about 50 locker baskets, which I'm already regretting not buying. The inside locations are all foofier and higher-end schmancy antiques, but fun to look at it.

Across the way is the Renningers Flea Market, which is mostly tube socks, used tires, and dollar-store items. It was also the annual "motorcycle swapmeet show and cruise-in", so you know the 3 of us just blended right in.

But you can never be sure, so we decided to give the flea a spin. Sure enough, just up the aisle from Dumb Ass Fish Camp (which is a HOOT—all fishing/pirate/beachcomber stuff), I met Sandra, an Englishwoman selling awesome vintage stuff DIRT CHEAP. It was closing time, and she was in a good mood, so mom and I scored!

My haul for the day: all for under $40:

My sister found the hatbox (from my college town), and I got the 3 '50s noisemakers (which always sell in a heartbeat), the awesome photo album, which I bought solely for the photo you see in the center (a girl in a party hat dancing spastically a la Elaine), a 1904 LaRousse French dictionary, a 1879 Handy dictionary, assorted jewels and tchotchkes—including 2 vintage rosaries, and the frame in the middle, which is a woman being baptized in a river in 1939.

OK, amassed it doesn't feel like a lot, but it was fun amassing it, and I'd re-purchase everything!

Tuesday we're hitting Winter Park for more junking!!!!
